Park it Forward Initiative

The National Park Service has announced a program to begin charging a parking fee for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Beginning March 1, 2023, there will be a daily fee of $5/car, a weekly fee of $15/car, or an annual fee of $40/car. This fee will be linked to the license plate of the car, and is nontransferable. Daily and weekly parking tags will be available at automated fee machines, payable by credit card. These machines will operate 24/7, with locations yet to be determined.

Parking tags may be purchased at any of the Visitor Centers, the Cades Cove Orientation Center, and the Swain County courthouse, during regular business hours. On-line sales will also be available. These tags may not be transferred, upgraded, replaced, or refunded.
