New Section of AT A relocated section of the AT was opened February 24, 2014.  This section is from Fontana Marina to Fontana Dam, about 1.5 miles.  The trail now runs along Fontana Lake with great views. This section is outside of the Park, and so will not add, or change, any miles for the 800-mile quest.
