Road Closings 2025 Rich Mountain and Parson Branch Roads

Ridge, Heintooga Round Mountain, and Straight Fork
Roads are closed due to the effects of Hurricane Helene. The Park has closed several
campgrounds due to Hurricane Helene damage: Abrams Creek, Balsam Mt, Big
Creek, Cosby, and Look Rock. Cades Cove, Elkmont,
and Smokemont remain open, and Deep Creek
campground will open April 18, 2025. The Cosby entrance road closed
December 9, 2024, for rehabilitation work. Completion of this project is
expected in Spring, 2025. At some point, single lane closures might be
implemented, but until that time, there is no access to the trails in the
Cosby campground area. For up-to-date information about roads and trail closures, visit
